The first ever Hastings RNLI Emergency Services Day took place on the 14th September 2014 and the event attracted record crowds.Instead of our usual Station Open Day, the crew decided this year they wanted to organise a community event for local emergency services and volunteer organisations so the public could find out about the essential work they do and talk about the important part they play in the event of an emergency.

This event was organised by a small group of volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew and was a massive success. The event which took months of planning by our crew welcomed over 20 different services and organisations to the lifeboat station and Hastings Old Town and with them the public arrived in their hoards, all coming to see the services and hear about the work they do.

Hundreds of people visited the station, looked over the boats and chatted with the crews and volunteers and our RNLI shop took the most money ever taken in one day!
